Have you made any crown yourself? If you plan to cosplay any character who have a crown accessories or even other styles hats, maybe you can check this simple tutorial to give you some idea .
These are necessary materials: cardboard, red cloth, pigment, hot melt adhesive, different kinds of strings of beads, white paper ( used as the prototype), double faced adhesive tape, water color brush, pencils, scissors, art designing knife, nail polish ( to beautify the crown) ( we don’t use pliers and silk thread, and the steel wire is used to mix the pigment)
Still materials we need: we’d better prepare tweezers because hot melt adhesive is easy to burn our hands, when you paste the beads together you’d better use the tweezers, unless you are not afraid to burn your hands. I didn’t find pencils, so I use color pencils, a lighter and a stuff which is to beautify the cell phone.
Still materials: It seems that these materials in this page haven’t been used.
This is a prototype I draw on the paper. I am very rigorous when I make things, so it is easy to make a better finished product by making a paper prototype. It is appropriate to draw on the cardboard directly. Here I will give you a group of data. Forget it , I will give the data after photographing.
Now shear the prototype down from the paper.
Draw the prototype on the cardboard according to the paper prototype and shear it.
This is the prototype after sheared from the paper.
We can shear another cardboard to paste on, then it will not be out of shape anymore.
Now we paste it well. Color mixing should carry with metal texture.
Some places are relatively soft which are likely to be out of shape.
After color mixing, brush the color on the prototype. The main body is yellow, the color of the corner is very comfortable. Then we make it a circle ( paste with double faced adhesive tape and hot melt adhesive), bind and paste the strips on the center of the prototype.This is the how it works.
I suggest that you paste the top part by using hot melt adhesive because double faced adhesive tape is possibly not fast enough.
Then we begin the most important step, paste the red cloth on the prototype. ( It is relatively complicated)
Paste the double faced adhesive tape on the side which is colorless, make sure that you paste every corner of the cloth on the crown or it will be fallen off.
The red cloth is about 16 or 17 centimeters long, 9 or 10 centimeters wide.
Remember to paste the rest part of the cloth on the crown, and paste the double faced adhesive tape on the fringe of the red cloth before you paste the next piece of cloth.
Here is the result .
Now we can develop by ourselves. Embellish it. Remember to press the crown downward for several times in order not to make the upper part as thick as the bottom part. Use hot melt adhesive to paste the strings of beads together, or you can use needles to sew them together. And you can spread on some nail polish on the strings of beads to beautify the crown.
