Featured Cosplayer: Ira Orduña

Much can be said about this young cosplayer from Malolos, Bulacan, who seemed to have swept the entire cosplay scene like a category 5 hurricane. 


Ira Orduña, born on the 24th of August 1995, may look like a typical, charming girl-next-door; but behind the captivating smile and alluring demeanor, is an enthusiastic cosplayer who has won a number of awards from major cosplay events.


Ira has cosplayed Lady Sylvanna from WarCraft, Saeko Busujimma of High School of the Dead, Aphrodite of God of War, Luzviminda from Filipino Comics and Azure Rathalos from Monster Hunter. Being an ardent gamer and a self-confessed otaku, Ira said she prefers to wear armors and is in fact more comfortable wearing heavy costumes.

Ira had been visible in a lot of cosplay events especially in Pampanga and Bulacan area where her residence is in close proximity. She started the hobby on July 2011 via a cosplay event in SM Baliuag. Since then, she has appeared in major events including Pinoy Otaku Encore, SUZUKI Cosplay Contest, Ozine Fest 2011, Otaku Expo 2012, Netopia Cyberleague Cosplay Showdown 2012 and SM Clark Clash of the Cosplayers. 


Ira has won major awards at the SUZUKI Cosplay Contest, Netopia CC Showdown and just recently at the Clash of the Cosplayers in SM Clark.

"The Most special event for me was the SUZUKI cosplay contest and Netopia CC Showdown :)) I really did not expect to win."

Ira’s main motivation and inspiration for cosplaying are her friends who are cosplayers themselves. Outside of cosplay, Ira is a typical graduating high school student who is concentrated on schoolwork. Much of her hobbies are also related to anime, cosplaying and modelling.

“Focus on Studies.. It is one of my major priorities as well... for me as a student it is really hard to balance my LOVE for cosplaying and my perseverance for my studies :))”
